About

Min Li is an Artist and Designer. Studied traditional Chinese dance in Beijing Dance Academy, joined National ballet of China after graduation, danced different roles in classical ballets and contemporary pieces. After 4 years in the company, Min was offered a full scholarship from California Institute of The Arts to study Contemporary dance and Choreography. During the study, he was awarded Excellence in Dance Lorna Strassler Award at Jacob's pillow Festival. Ohad Naharin invited Min to join Batsheva Dance Ensemble in Israel, dancing different works of Ohad, as well as making his own pieces in the company workshops. He moved to The Netherlands after Batsheva,  wanting to discover different artistic styles and cultures in Europe. Invited by Ed Wubbe to join Scapino ballet Rotterdam, where he worked with different choreographers,  he started to create more works of his own, exploring the possibilities of dance and theatre. Human emotions, relationships between people, power and vulnerability… Since 2014, Min became independent Artist.

Min also studied fashion design at the Royal Academy of Art (KABK). Where he learned to design and make his own creations with fabric and texture. It's another dimension where he can explore his creativity and imagination. How to create a certain atmosphere and identity with what we wear, How to define beauty and elegance with each individual mind, How to reveal a certain emotion with texture and shapes... Min would like to combine all his experiences and ideas together to create something personal both in Dance and Design.
